The Saw – A Wisdom Story !

There lived a Carpenter in a small village, he used to earn his living by doing small carpentry work here and there, but was well-known in the entire village for his neat and fine work. One day he thought if he worked for the Civil Engineer, who was building several houses in the village, he could earn more money than what he was getting with his small work. So he went to the Engineer for a job and he got the job and the pay was really good.saw

The Engineer took him to the site and told him to start with making doors and windows for the house they were building. It was a huge house requiring many windows and doors. The Carpenter determined to do his best.

On the first day of his work, the Carpenter did an awesome job and made 12 windows with his saw.

The Engineer was very happy and told the carpenter “Congratulations, keep up the good work”

The Carpenter was motivated by Engineer’s words and thought to work harder on the second day. But to his surprise, although he worked hard he could only make 8 windows.

On the third day he tried even harder, but succeeded in making only 6 windows. Day after day he was making less and less windows and doors.

“I must be losing my strength”, the carpenter thought to himself and went to the Engineer and told him, “I am really sorry, my efficiency of work is reducing day by day and I don’t understand what is happening with me”

The Engineer asked the Carpenter, “When was the last time you changed your saw?”

“Changed the saw? I had no time to go and buy a new saw. I had been very busy trying to make more windows and doors all this time”

Hard work is not the only factor for output but at the same time it needs analysis and application and certainly motivation. When mind & body work in harmony result is stupendous. The story is nice. Thanks FFJ editors

we must follow smart way of working..
first put hardwork (understand the work)
second smartwork (repeat the same work smartly, sharp your brain and knowledge)
    third repeat the second one
i believe once you understand your work, try doing it differently rather than repeating same way of working….thanks sara…

    Suggested Moral:
Quality needs consistency, Quantity needs hard work.

    Elaborating the comment:
Quality needs consistency (in thinking), Quantity needs hard work (in muscles).. Less but continuous work -comparatively- is better than uneven and cut work, that also applies in Prayers and good deeds from religious (and true life) point of view.. All these ideas need to revise, frequently, the point of origin and the connected folds, where, when, and how, the means need to be developed..

Moral of the story :The Saw

In our life too we tend to live routine life without sharpening the creative buds in our brain and we feel bored of our life one day. To keep improving the skills we need to sharpen the creative buds in us by taking up some creative tasks and improve our interest in life.
