Display: This is the area where Samsung has really done a lot to improve its image and the hard work does show in Samsung Galaxy S3. The S3 comes with a 4.8-inch SUPER AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 720×1280 pixel. The BlackBerry Z10 lacks the SUPER AMOLED technology and some centimeters in the display size too. The Z10 sports a 4.2-inch capacitive touch screen with 768×1280 pixel. BlackBerry Z10 does manage to score a point here over the pixel density as it comes with ~355 ppi pixel density whereas Galaxy S3 has only ~306 ppi pixel density.
Processor: The powerhouse of a smartphone always rests in processor. Samsung Galaxy S3 is powered by a quad-core Exynos 4412 chipset clocked at 1.4 GHz supported by a 1 GB of RAM. The BlackBerry Z10 comes with Qualcomm’s dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz supported by a 2 GB of RAM.
Camera: This a battle ground where these two devices compete neck to neck. Both the phones feature 8 megapixel rear-facing cameras; however, as far as the front-facing camera is concerned, BB Z10 comes with a 2 megapixel camera whereas Samsung falls back slightly with a 1.9 megapixel one.
OS: The BlackBerry Z10 runs BlackBerry’s latest BB 10 operating system. Being a new operating system may have its own teething problem. At the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S3 runs the reliable and tested Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box. The Galaxy S3 can be upgraded to 4.1.2 Jelly Bean whenever it is rolled out officially.
Storage: Here come the point that makes you worried when you want to store your pictures, videos and music files. Samsung Galaxy S3 comes in 16/32/64 GB internal memory versions; the phone does have a microSD slot that supports a card up to 64 GB. The BlackBerry Z10 comes only with 16 GB internal memory and the external memory slot of the phone supports a microSD card of up to 64 GB.
