Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow focuses on Weichung (Ritchie Jen) struggling with his sexual identity and his relationship with his wife, Feng (Mavis Fan).  Weichung works as an optician and has recently received a promotion to manager at work.  He has a lovely wife and child, and his wife wants to have another child.  However, when handsome flight attendant Thomas (Wong Ka-Lok) enters Weichung’s chop, Weichung is instantly drawn to him.  He later meets the openly gay and flamboyant photographer Stephen (Lawrence Ko) at his sister’s engagement party which leads Weichung to start seriously thinking about his homosexuality.  Contrasted with Weichung is his sister Mandy who is engaged to San-San.  She begins to feel the pressure of married life and ultimately breaks off the engagement instead of making the commitment.  San-San desperately tries to get her back using Stephen’s advice.

The nature of marriage and the social pressures to have a typical relationship weighs on both Weichung and Feng.  Feng becomes filled with doubt over Weichung’s lack of intimacy.  Her issues at work further add to her despair as her manager starts to focus on her lateness and frequent breaks.  Weichung’s fear of defying convention and destroying his relationship with his wife and child also play a part of his hesitancy with coming out.  I thought both Ritchie Jen and Mavis Fan’s performances were very good.  Jen looks like a lost puppy especially in scenes with Ka-Lok.  Lawrence Ko steals every scene that he is in and his character Stephen acts comically as the voice of reason for most of the characters’ navigating their relationships.

Film Movement has the US distribution rights for the film and should be released in June 2014.
