My Swap Card – Convention Team

As a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, we have the opportunity to purchase product from the next new catalog earlier than customers.  This is one of the those times.  The new Holiday Catalog is going to be live August 1st.  So, here is a card that I did for an organized swap of the team that I belong to, Stampin By The Sea.  We exchanged cards at Convention, Salt Lake City, Utah.  #convention2013.  There are a lot of details in this card.

This “Thanksgiving” themed card uses a TON of new product.  New DSP (Sweater Weather #132184) – New Punch (Chevron Punch #132154) – New Ribbon (Burlap #132140) – Two new stamp sets (Harvest of Thanks – #131739 (clear) or #131736 (wood) and Truly Grateful – #131733 (clear) or #131730 (wood)) –

Do you see the splatter in this card?  Have you tried this technique?  All you do is put about 25 drops of re-inker into an aqua painter, fill it up with alcohol and squeeze to load the brush.  You can either tap the aqua painter on your finger over the desired area, you can flick it over the area or you can squeeze the liquid directly over the desired area.  It just depends on the effect you are going for – be sure to practice on scrap paper before you do it on the finished product.  The more re-inker you use, the darker the spots.

Ok… Here’s what I really wanted to show you though.  Have you ever thought of coloring your buttons?  This is another neat thing you can do to spice up your card!  Check this out:

These are the Very Vintage Designer Buttons.  Normally, they are Very Vanilla in color.  However, you can color them with ink (I patted mine in a Crushed Curry ink pad) and then emboss them!  Easy peasy!

For the things you can get now, the list is below. (the links open new windows and give you more info – plus you can put it in a shopping cart to purchase):
