I am happy to be home. I am. But come on, who doesn’t wish for warm. How many out there want to burn your winter jacket and toss away gloves, ear warmers and sweaters. Enough is ENOUGH! But in fact, it was freezing yesterday and today we woke up to snow in south Jersey and DC with more school closings, so even though Spring officially arrives on Thursday, Mother Nature is laughing her ass off at us.
So even though I am moving slowly, gently back into my reality, I’m still floating back to the beach as I open my Excellence photos in Aperture and savor each of those glorious moments on the beach, in the spa-pool at night, swimming in one of 10 pools each day, sampling new drinks at the Martini bar , ah.. the life of an upscale beach bum. .
But today, with my trusty list, I took my car to be fixed after an episode, just before we left on some ice- yes, my car lost some trim and moving back and forth impatiently, I damaged something underneath, in the hidden recesses of my Mazda 3 and when it’s all lixdd up good as new, I WILL PAY!
Okay… move on. A new romance was shared with the family last night. We all gave our thumbs up and now it’s up to them to take on the obstacles ahead.
Tomorrow, I’m back on the road in my loaner car- a new Mazda 3 with only 325 miles, can you imagine? And work awaits as I finish up my workshop presentation so Tuvia and I can enjoy some quiet time watching another West Wing episode, dreaming of President Jeb Bartlett.
Last night we met a great guy from Madrid that Tuvia’s granddaughter met during her semester abroad.
How quickly home life settles back in and the warmth of the beach becomes a fading memory. Fortunately you have photos. Sorry about your car, ouch!
You came back to bitter cold and a new romance – the romance wins out! Hope the car is fixed properly.
You cursed winter appropriately–it would be VERY hard to come home to this after some serious beach days. Enjoy the photos and good luck with the car.
