JW: Construction Begins on Asilong CHM Secondary School in Kenya

Construction on a new building of Asilong CHM Secondary School in Asilong, Pokot, Kenya has begun! JW Justice leadership team member Sam De Jong traveled to Asilong last month to work alongside our hired contractor, Kennedy Matini, who worked with our team on previous projects as well. Sam, Kennedy, and friends from Tipping Mar Structural Engineers in Berkeley, California assisted with the initial construction phase of the teacher housing building. The secondary (high) school can’t open without teachers, so this building is crucial to the school’s progress in Pokot! If all goes well, the first ever freshman class of Asilong village will hit the books in January 2016.

Stay tuned later this month for a more specific update from Sam’s trip to Kenya. If you want to learn more about how we got here, check out the 4-part series of videos we released earlier this year. Questions? Email justice@jacobswellchurch.org.
