Almond butter is a gift from the gods. It is Paleo friendly in moderation like nuts and seeds. I have put it on apples. bananas, berries, and just about anything else you can think of. I have even been known to eat right out of the jar (shhh…don’t tell anyone). It is a constant struggle for myself with this delightful treat. I can go overboard. By the time I am done I’m shocked at the amount of almond butter consumed in one sitting. It sometimes stays out of my cabinet for extended periods of time so I can pull myself out the almond butter-coma I am in. I notice when I eat a lot of almonds or almond butter, my fat loss will stall.
I know that counting calories isn’t a big deal with Paleo but if you are stalled with your weight-loss effort, counting them could help jump start the process. Almond butter is so calorically dense, I don’t think a lot of people realize how many calories are in a serving. Most are in the range of 180 calories for two tablespoons. I dont know about you but that isn’t my standard size serving of almond butter.
I try to be good around the jar full of amazingness but its hard. When I do buy almond butter, I make sure it has one ingredient and that is almonds. Most of the smooth, no-stir almond butters have some other ingredients hiding in the jar such as evaporated cane juice, palm fruit oil. Why not go with pure almond butter? It tastes so much better than the smooth, no-stir type. I guess I will hide my jar somewhere where I can’t find it because writing about it has me thinking I eat too much of the stuff. Oh well, I will hide it where I can find it easily.
I love natural peanut butter, but I’ve seen almond butter before and have been meaning to try it.
its amazing
