I was reminded I wrote four obits in 2013:

We also lost Nelson Mandela, whose name and persona will live in history as long as anyone of this generation.

Peter O’Toole, I saw him in Theater in the Round in Philadelphia 50 years ago.
David Frost, who got Richard Nixon to admit he let down the American people and secured Frost his 15 minutes of fame
Eydie Gorme, the iconic torchy singer. “Guess who I saw today, my dear.”
Elmore Leonard , “Nobody edits ME.”
Jonathon Winters, a funny man who never used a four-letter word on stage.
Stan Musial, a baseball superstar before the word was coined.
Roger Ebert, together again with Gene Siskel.
There were more, but this is the list of people I wept for. Who is on your list that I missed?
A Year on the Road -- Again 
Except for personal friends, I am inclined to honor with my attention those still remaining.
Nelsn Mandela, a great man, will be greatly missed. I’ll miss James Gandolfini, Jean Stapleton, Ester Williams, one of my first heroines, Van Cliburn, Lou Reed with the sexy voice, Another of my first heroines, Maria Tallchief: prima ballerina of the NY City Ballet. She was a wonderful dancer and a full-blooded Native American. I’ll miss them all.

I’m glad you’re still active, and on the air. Your choices are all at the top of my list too. I also wept for Patti Page on New Years day last year, Annette Funicello after several years with MS, Jean Stapleton who was the heart of the family, and Phil who was half of the Everly Brothers already in 2014.

Ah, yes- Nelson Mandela has got to be the most missed. Let’s hope that his non violence and change lives on. These are people that change lives- for the good. We can’t afford to lose their spirit.
