The Friday chair dancer…

Dance!Keep your fingers crossed everybody, as this weekend’s lining up to be a corker! Not only is it a three dayer due to the bank holiday, but the weather’s meant to be downright glorious. It isn’t often we can put the words ‘sunny’ and ‘bank holiday’ in the same sentence, so let’s make the most of it.

So get your headphones on and crank it up, and start your bank holiday the right way – with a bloody good chair dance!!

Have a goodun’!

This week Frankie’s chair dancing to…

Like I’d be listening to anything else other than Major Lazer and Diplo!!!!! I’m not at my desk today, I am in Slough at the moment at a client meeting, I wrote this on Thursday as I didn’t want to miss out on the chair dancer. I can tell you for sure that right now, although I’m not actually chair dancing at my meeting (actually it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that I’m not), I am so excited about seeing Major Lazer and Diplo tonight that I’m about to burst. Which track to pick???? This is so hard. As they are promoting their new album I’m going to pick something from that and the song of choice is ‘Watch out for this (Bumaye – which means kill him, learning new aggressive words, yes!)’. Let’s watch the video as this is how I’m going to be dancing tomorrow, apart from the handstand thing, I can’t do that, I am going to try and express myself against the DJ booth but then I’ll have something to balance on. Oh Expressing yourself is basically the handstand thing only your feet are resting on a wall, or in my case, a DJ booth.

This week Meg’s chair dancing to…

Like Franks, I’m so bloody excited about Major Lazer tonight that I’m struggling to stop myself from hollering “MAAAAAJJJJOOOOR LAAAZZZER!” across the office.

However, excited as I am about seeing Diplo’s actual real life face later on, I’m also really looking forward to seeing some of the amazing Bristol talent who are playing with him at The Exchange, and in particular, Jus Now.

Jus Now is the fusion of Bristol based producer Interface and LAZAbeam, a producer and percussionist from Trinidad, who are signed to Bristol label Gutterfunk. Together they’re making some of the most exciting, dirty Dancehall/Soca/Carnival inspired tracks around at the moment. It makes me all stampy, and I like anything which makes me stampy.

At the moment there are only clips available of each of the tracks on the EP on Soundcloud, which is a mega tease, but it’s available to buy now, so do your bit for Bristol’s musicians – these guys are bloody awesome and I want to see them doing really, really big things!
