No Christmas baking list would be complete without M&M Cookies! So of course it was on my 2012 Christmas Baking Madness list! M&Ms of course puts out a Christmas package that has just red and green M&Ms. This recipe is spectacular because the cookie part is so good!

Printable Recipe: M&M Cookies

Ingredients:

• 1 cup packed brown sugar

• 1/2 cup white sugar

• 1/2 cup shortening

• 1/2 cup butter

• 2 eggs

• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

• 2 – 1/2 cups flour

• 1 teaspoon baking soda

• 1 teaspoon salt

• 1 regular package size of Christmas M&Ms (green & red)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350F. In a large bowl, mix sugar, eggs, shortening and vanilla with a wooden spoon. Mix till thoroughly combined. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually flour mix to wet mix, stirring by hand. Once thoroughly combined, fold in M&M candies.

Using a one-inch cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls onto parchment paper. Slightly push a few candies on top of dough scoops that are loose in the dough. Bake for 9-11 minutes. Allow cookies to completely cool on baking sheet. Initially, the cookies are puffy when removed from the oven but flattens out as it cools.

Store in an airtight container.
