Channel 4 has ordered a new political drama that will span the UK, US and North Korea.
Opposite Number (10×60′), written by Matt Charman, sees a covert British nuclear scientist taken prisoner in North Korea, sparking an international crisis that must be kept secret. The British Prime Minister and the US President must work together to resolve the situation.
It will be produced by Mammoth Screen. The executive producers are Charman, Rebecca Keane, Preethi Mavahalli and Damien Timmer.
ITV Studios Global Entertainment is distributing the series and seeking global coproduction partners.
