25th Panorama of European Cinema

From 15-25 November, the 25th Panorama of European Cinema will be taking place in Athens, Greece. Screenings will be hosted at the Greek Film Archive and Titania Cinema Theater. Individual tickets will be at the affordable price of 5€ and 30€ for 10 screenings.

The detailed schedule of the festival has not been released yet, but there have been announcements on films showcased. The festival will be inaugurated on Wednesday 14 November, at 8:30pm, with Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina starring Keira Knightley and Jude Law, at Asty Cinema Theater.

Films which will be included in the Competition section of the festival will include La noche de enfrente, J’enrage de son absence, Death of a Man in the Balkans, Either Way, and for the first time there will be showcased Greek productions like the 10th Day. Moreover, there will be tributes to directors, Turkish cinema, Westerns, Neonazi movement in cinema, first screenings of films, as well as a horror section entitled Fright Night…From Dusk Till Dawn, which will include Audition, Dawn of the Dead etc. During the festival there will also be various events taking place, such as art exhibition inspired by the works of Theodoros Angelopoulos, and discussions open to the audience.

In addition to the guests and committees of the festival, Athinorama magazine forms a five-member judging panel that will watch the films screened at the Competition section of the festival and select the film which will be awarded Athinorama’s Audience Award. If you wish to become one of Athinorama’s committee you can do so by sending a SMS by Friday 9 November at 54344 including the following: CN03 (name) (surname). The only prerequisite will be that you will have free time in the afternoon hours during the festival period so as to attend the screenings.

If you wish you could also become a volunteer at the festival assisting with social media, translations, public relations, digital screenings’ technician, or even theatre representative.
