Given the Trayvon Martin / George Zimmerman case, one would have thought we would have heard from La Raza before now. With Zimmerman half hispanic, and Martin Black, it seems like a situation that could lead to violence between the two groups. However, La Raza is taking the high road and has suggested a team-up:
I think for us it’s about understanding that we have common interests and we have to be able to understand that our demographics today, a lot of people want to pit who’s the largest minority vs. who’s taking over as the largest demographic and all that.
We need to understand that when you put those two demographics together you know when you put sixteen percent of the Latino population now in the US combined with fourteen percent of the African American population is what can we do together now to attack those common enemies?
Attack common enemies? They couldn’t be taking about white people. There is no race war. I’m sure they’re talking about crime, and drugs, and cleaning up our neighborhoods and planting trees. But I have to ask, have they talked to the New Black Panther Party? Because Michelle Williams, Black Panther Party Chief Of Staff, had this to say:
“Let me tell you, the things that’s about to happen, to these honkeys, these crackers, these pigs, these pink people, these —- people. It has been long overdue. My prize right now this evening … is gonna be the bounty, the arrest, dead or alive, for George Zimmerman. You feel me?”
Debbie Wasserman Schultz just called and blamed the whole thing on Boehner, the intransigent House Republicans and their hatred of the uterus.
