Urška Košir (Born: Ljubljana, Slovenija)

Urška Košir, 34, is a recognized Slovenian photographer best known for her series of portraits and nudes. She has always found images extremely fascinating ever since she was a child. She has studied law but soon realized that she could never find practicing it as satisfactory as working behind a camera. She finished her studies with an excellent mark ‘cum laude’ but either way she immediately decided to switch to photography and media. Since 2006 her photographs have been published on numerous magazine covers and in a variety of print and on-line media. In 2010 she became an official Playboy photographer and has had many photo series published in Playboy editions across the world, including in the original US edition. Urška has received awards in national photography competitions and has also achieved recognition abroad. The jury of the prestigious Trierenberg Supercircuit photo salon in Austria ranked her two photographs ’Invitation’ and ’Mix’ among “The World’s Greatest Masterpieces in 2012” and selected them for publication in a prestigious collector’s book. Last year she was the first female photographer in Slovenia to create a series of erotic photographs for the famous Collegium Graphicum calendar 2015, which has become known as the Slovenian Pirelli in the 13 years since its first edition. Urška is also the author and creative director of several solo projects and photography exhibitions; her latest, the sixth in the series, was the highly successful Slovenia-wide art and charity campaign entitled “The biggest smile” which was first exhibited at the open gallery by Municipality of Ljubljana in the city center of Slovenia’s capital. At the end of last year she was chosen as a participating artist Berliner Liste. This year she has put her works on display at Cologne in April and will do the same in Rotterdam. Next year she will present herself with many exhibitions in her home country and abroad.

3 coming exhibitions; two in Ljubljana, Slovenia in Municipality of Ljubljana’s open  gallery at the streets of the capital and two mega projects – Faces and The great smile. My work will be presented Ljubljana – Slovenia, in Vienna – Austria, Berlin – Germany and maybe further.
