Forget calendars
Forget light, measured
in axial slant
or day length
spring unfolds
and is less calculation
and more the yellow
crocuses shout
quietly
under this kitchen window
where I dreamed them
expected
but never exactly planned

Hear that SFAM? The sun has made it to the frozen north! Yay for our northern brother and I have never seen a yellow crocus ( I KNOW right?) How about a snap?

good to know they are good for something other than stealing food from the birds!
Well, they’re cute too, but that’s all I have to say in their defense: They are cute and bring me crocuses. Otherwise, the buggers eat all my shallots just about every year. Expensive taste, these squirrels in my neighborhood.
hell, I wouldn’t mind feeding them…their OWN damned food even…if they didn’t sit there and eat the whole thing in one sitting! Expensive? Yes indeed
LOL, oye. Expensive to feed? Try four 16-week Siamese kittens (with appetites like teenage boys). They are gonna eat us out of house and home 😉

Yep. In Buffalo, calendars are simply suggestions of what should happen around a certain time, as you know!
