Miles Teller Describes ‘The Spectacular Now’ Sex Scene

If there’s one thing that will make you go “ah, youth” while watching The Spectacular Now (in theaters today), it will be the love scene between Sutter (Miles Teller) and Amy (Shailene Woodley).

While Teller wasn’t entirely psyched about my description of said scene (I called it “cute”), while Woodley was happy to hear that her efforts did not go unnoticed.

“It’s my favorite scene in the whole movie because it is so real,” Woodley recently told The View. “The audience does feel uncomfortable watching it, because it almost feels like you’re invading somebody’s privacy.

“There’s not fancy music playing and there’s not any exaggeration of what it’s like to be intimate with somebody for possibly the first time. It’s also just a minute-long shot of us making love.”
