Best of 2013!! TAG

Guess what?! It’s time to talk favorite products from 2013! Can you believe that we are in 2014 now? What freaks me out is that I graduate in 2015!! Ahh o_O. How did this happen?

Anyway, I want to tag anyone who reads this to do this as well. The questions are adapted from Bethany Mota’s Best of 2012 tag. I added a bunch more categories though!

1. Face Makeup Product

 photo IMG_2993_zps5ed74fb6.jpg

What a surprise, right? I am seriously obsessed with this product. It is the Flower Face the World Tinted Moisturizer. I wrote a blog post on this, so I won’t rave too much here. But I do want to say that I absolutely love this product.

2. Cheek Makeup Product

 photo IMG_2994_zpscd7745a8.jpg

I don’t think that this will come as much of a surprise, either. I love the Mary-Lou Manizer from theBalm and have raved it about in a blog post before. I love the shimmer that it adds to my face. It definitely isn’t subtle, but that is exactly why I love it.

3. Eye Makeup Product

 photo IMG_2995_zpsfc47b6c8.jpg

This was hard to choose. I really wanted to follow the “rules” and only choose one product for each category, but I love so many different eye makeup products. However, I think the game changer of this year is the Physician’s Formula Gel Eyeliner. This is from the trio for brown eyes. I love this black color. While in England, I used it almost everyday and realized what a difference some liner on the upper lid can make. I love that this particular gel liner doesn’t smudge. It’s also hypoallergenic so it doesn’t bother my sensitive eyes.

4. Lip Makeup Product

 photo IMG_3007_zps48093fe2.jpg

This was hard to choose as well. I decided to go with the ModelCo Party Proof Matte Lipstick in Peony as it is my go-to lipstick. My mom says that it looks like what her grandmother used to wear. I’m going to take that as a compliment. πŸ™‚ I love the shade and it smells so good. The formula is really great, and it doesn’t really wear off when you wear (except when you eat or drink… which is understandable).

5. Lip Balm

 photo IMG_3006_zps7bb1f00f.jpg

I really did try to follow the rules, but I had to pick two for this one. I love Softlips and the Nivea Lip Butter (this post is from last year’s Bloguary!). I love that the Softlips sinks into the lips, making it perfect for layering under lipsticks. The Nivea Lip Butter is perfect for nighttime use as it moisturizes extremely well!

6. Beauty Tool

I didn’t take a picture of this because it is dirty, but it is definitely the Real Techniques Expert Face brush. It is perfect for applying my Flower Tinted Moisturizer. It’s perfect.

7. Nail Polish

 photo IMG_2997_zpscb485292.jpg

I don’t think this is a surprise as it has come up a lot on my blog. This is Julep Angela and you can read my full thoughts on this nail polish here. I love this polish so much and have used up over half of the bottle in the few months that I’ve had it. LOVE IT!

8. Skincare

 photo IMG_2996_zpsd43969fb.jpg

For skincare, I had to go with my holy grail acne product: AcneFree Terminator 10. I have a post on this product. I just love how well it works at eliminating acne blemishes.

9. Hair Product

 photo IMG_2998_zps4eae60cb.jpg

This was hard to choose as well, but I chose to feature my Conair Flat Iron. I absolutely love how well it works especially because it isn’t very expensive. Conair makes fantastic hair tools, so I would highly recommend checking them out. I’ve had this particular iron for about three years. It might be more, but I think it’s three.

10. Body Lotion

 photo IMG_3001_zpsc6256e83.jpg

I love the Bath and Body Works Triple Moisture Body Creams, so I had to pick that for my favorite body lotion of 2013. I decided to feature the Malibu Heat scent, because it is one of my absolute favorites. I love the coconut in it. It reminds me of summer so much.

11. Shower Product

 photo IMG_3010_zps07d67f9e.jpg

Again with the Bath and Body Works. But, I absolutely love their shower gels. I have a rather large stash, and if you read yesterday’s post, you’ll know I got more for Christmas! I think that these shower gels lather really well, and they don’t irritate my skin. You can also get them on a really good deal. Here’s how to do it. When BBW is having their Buy 3 Get 3, pick out six. Then take a survey coupon. Bam! Such a good deal! πŸ˜€ That’s why I have so many. I keep doing this deal. Hahaha.

12. Perfume

 photo IMG_3009_zps57f4fd70.jpg

This fragrance came out back in February (I think), and I fell in love with it. I actually bought a small one to take with me to England. It’s from Bath and Body Works and its called Honey Sweetheart. You can read my full review here!

13. Makeup Remover

 photo IMG_3011_zps9654fcd5.jpg

In this blog post, I talk about the Almay Eye Makeup Remover Pads. I absolutely love the way they remove my eye makeup. They are perfect for the end of the day and for clearing up any mishaps. I also use them a lot for removing swatches from the back of my hand. They are also pretty inexpensive, so you really can’t beat them.

14. Makeup Brand

This has got to be Stila. I’ve acquired several products from them this year, and I’ve been pretty impressed with all of them. It is definitely the standout brand of 2013 for me.

15. Clothing Piece

 photo IMG_2553_zpsbf412280.jpg

I love this sweater. I mentioned in my Sweater Weather Tag. I wear it all the time. It is probably my most worn clothing piece of 2013. I borrowed this picture from my haul in case you were thinking it looked familiar.

16. Accessory

 photo IMG_3002_zps6114bedc.jpg

I had to go with this white and rose gold watch from American Eagle. I got it for about eighteen dollars, which is a steal. It is very similar to the Michael Kors watches. In fact, I even had somebody ask me if it was from Michael Kors. I love that it is big and chunky and goes with everything.

17. Shoes

 photo IMG_2556_zpse5e7925b.jpg

Also borrowed from the haul post and also in the Sweater Weather tag are these combat boots. I wore them nearly every day in England and they probably have a few hundred walking miles on them. I walked so much while in England! And these have held up so well. I love these boots.

18. TV Show

Home Improvement! It’s a really old show, but I’ve definitely gotten back into it. I love love love it. It’s hilarious and Tim Allen’s character is great!

19. Movie

I have to go with When Harry Met Sally. I saw it for the first time this year, and it has become a quick favorite. Love it!

20. Book

The Great Gatsby! I really loved this book!

21. Useless Item

 photo IMG_3012_zps724008e6.jpg

I HAD to share this with you. Guess what I bought? A wand! That’s right. When I went to the Warner Brothers Studio Tour in Leavesden, I had to buy a wand. It was actually pretty expensive. It was 24.95 GBP. That is roughly forty bucks. Whatever. It is Hermione’s wand, and I’ve been dying to get this since the pamphlet that I got in the DVD of the third movie.

Also, do you want to know something embarrassing? I cried when I saw the castle. Harry Potter was such a huge part of my childhood and there are so many memories I have that are tied to those movies. I just couldn’t help but feel emotional when I saw the castle decked out in snow. So many feels. πŸ˜€

22. Food

Ugh. English sweets namely Fox’s Golden Crunch Creams (I think that is the name), McVities Chocolate Digestives, Kinder Bueno Bars, KitKat Crunchy….. I could go on and on and on.

23. Beverage

American coffee! Even though you can find filtered coffee in England, they just don’t do it as well as in the States. I love coffee ❀

24. Song

Don’t judge me, but I have to choose “Story of my Life” by One Direction. I really love this song and it’s probably my most listened to song of 2013.

25. Game

The Sims 3. See yesterday’s post. πŸ˜€

26. Hobbies

 photo IMG_3004_zpsc971b80e.jpg

My brother totally called me an 80-year-old for knitting, but hey! It’s fun. I picked this up while in England, and I fell in love with it. This is the first thing I’ve ever knitted, so don’t judge me if it looks bad. πŸ˜€

27. Experience

Study abroad! It is easily the best experience I’ve had this year. If I have to get specific, I have to choose the Harry Potter Studio Tour.

28. Show

This is hard. I’m going to say either Mojo or The Drowned Man. I saw both in London and they were really great. Mojo is something that has had to grow on me. I didn’t love it when it was over, but thinking back on it, it was a really good show. Very well done. Also, I loved the interactive quality of The Drowned Man. PunchDrunk did a great job. Really awesome!

There we have it. The super long, but thorough recap of 2013. It was a great year. I’m sure 2014 will be just as fantastic.

I bought everything myself. All opinions are my own. I’m not getting paid for this post.
