Goals from Marwin Kerstiens, Benjamin Bella, Ibro Beslija, Tobias Seufert, and Dirk Bauer fired Dortmund’s U19 side to a thirteenth straight victory with a 5-1 thumping of MSV Duisburg at Stadion Meiderich this morning.

The result maintains BVB’s three point-lead at the top of U19 Group 3 over Bayer Leverkusen who nearly threw away a three-goal lead in their 3-2 win at Düsseldorf. There are just three matches remaining, and Dortmund’s proficiency in front of goal today increased the goal difference to +32 compared to Leverkusen’s +28.

Kerstiens and Bella struck within five minutes of each other midway through the first-half, before Beslija added a penalty inside the final twenty minutes. Seufert turned home a cross three minutes later, before Bauer stretched the lead to five with ten minutes left.

BVB couldn’t keep a second successive clean-sheet however, and Bernhard Schöpf snuck behind the back four to slide home a long ball to score a consolation with six minutes remaining on the clock.

Dortmund’s remaining Group 3 matches are at Essen before two home games against Oberhausen and Gladbach. Leverkusen travel to Oberhausen, before ending the season at home to Duisburg and Essen. Dortmund U19  also compete in the national youth cup final in a fortnight against Cottbus (5th in Group 1).
