House artist releases year-in-the-making new single.

Our favourite house maestro, Christofi, has returned to our ears with the infectious new single Higher, featuring guest vocals from the immensely talented Malia. Even better – it’s a free download.

The track comes as a glorious relief to Christofi himself, who worked on the original instrumentation over a year ago. The reason for the wait, rather than musical dissatisfaction, is something truly admirable: Christofi struggled to find a vocalist who could do the track justice. When he composed the track, Christofi had the perfect idea for how the vocals should sound – and nobody was able to deliver that exact quality of vocal. That is, aside from Malia, whose deliveries on the track are just right.

Atop the bouncy house beat, Malia’s vocals are well-rounded and textured. Every uttered syllable is flawlessly formed and coated in emotion. This elevates the instrumentation ever higher, creating a sound that raises spirits to euphoric levels for something gloriously upbeat and enjoyable. Higher was certainly worth the wait.
