Wow, that’s an intense cake!
Even giant popcorn! My god, I have seen that cake cooked many a time for a party; when I was a little kid myself, right up to more recently at a friend’s kids party. I reckon I may have to get that cake book and have a go myself!
It was amazing. I am celebrating monthly birthdays this year so we can get through the book ;)

OMG OMG OMG. The train cake is like the holy grail of children’s birthday cakes. It’s how you could measure the extent of your parents’ love for you. I found a copy of the original 1980s WW Birthday Cake book at Camberwell Market a few years ago (minus the ice cream cake section) but I also bought the new old version when that came out. You can never have too many.
I haven’t decided if I love Oskar enough to make the train cake. Probably.
Does the new old version live up to the old old version? I only have the new but I love it and “read” it before bed.
