Unwrap a sketch challenge

Sometimes we need a starting point when we want to create but we don’t know how to get into a project.

Heart 2 Heart Challenges has good inspiration for you this week in the form of this sketch.

sketch

Do not be deceived! It will work for scrapbook pages as well as cards — just put the elements on a square page like I did.

When I looked at the sketch, I saw the circles as Christmas balls and thought about hanging bulbs where the banners are at the top. It was a perfect opportunity to use the new White Pines paper collection, which has Chocolate, Cranberry, Fern, Colonial White, Glacier and Champagne colors in it. (Did you realize there are about 12 weeks till Christmas? You’re welcome.)

The pine bough is from the new CTMH exclusive Cricut cartridge Artistry. The ornaments are from CTMH’s Art Philosophy cart. “Christmas” is from Artiste, “Past” is cut using Art Philosophy, the & and “Presents” are found on Artistry. I cut “Past” from Champagne-colored cardstock and sponged it with chocolate, trying to achieve a sepia look.

I loved juxtaposing these photos of my daughter and her father at about the same age and in similar styles of pajamas. I have more photos that I will put on a complementing page to make this a two-page layout eventually.

Show us what you will do with this sketch. You have all month to link up your project at Heart 2 Heart but what are you waiting for? Christmas?
