Bereft of any other credentials to justify her career as an entertainer, Lena Dunham took off her clothes on ‘Saturday Night Live’ over the weekend.
The big promo push for Lena Dunham‘s hosting of Saturday Night Live that included her appearing on NBC’s Today and Late Night With Seth Meyers did not pay off, even with Girls creator/star discussing/displaying some of her signature nudity on the late-night sketch show. Last night, the Dunham-hosted SNL with musical guest The National averaged a 4.1 household rating in the metered markets and a 2.1 in adults 18-49 in the markets with Local People Meters. That was down 11% in households and down 19% in 18-49 from last week’s show hosted by Jim Parsons. These are SNL‘s second-lowest results of the season in both households and 18-49.

Oh nothing. It’s just that one suspects that Lena Dunham found out long ago that comedy is more than a funny face and big clueless eyes. But why ever would she conclude that we want to see a fat Canadian girl peel off her clothes right before bedtime on a Saturday night?
The woman should come with a warning label: CAUTION: VIAGRA MAY BE REQUIRED FOR LIFE AFTER VIEWING

Take every Wes Anderson movie after The Royal Tenenbaums, add copious amounts of Valium and combine the mixture with the collective id of every female hipster in Brooklyn. That’s Lena Dunham.
Shedding her clothes once on “Girls” was funny, twice was gratuitous, more than that was beyond shakespearianly tragic.
