7 SUPER SHOTS

FrizzText has nominated me to participate in the fun game called 7-Super Shots.  The original creator of the game HostelBookers 7 Super Shots is found here.

The creators have come up with a fun game for all of us happy snappers. We are to select 7 photos that fit with the below categories, such as an image that you secretly think deserves a spot in National Geographic magazine! Post your choice selection on your blog, tell us about it, then nominate any other blogger friends you have.

Play with us in 5 easy steps

1. Choose 7 of your own photos, one for each of the following categories:

  • A photo that…takes my breath away
  • A photo that…makes me laugh or smile
  • A photo that…makes me dream
  • A photo that…makes me think
  • A photo that…makes my mouth water
  • A photo that…tells a story
  • A photo that…I am most proud of (aka my worthy of National Geographic shot)

2. Write a short description for each image.
3. Write somewhere in your blog post: ‘I am taking part in HostelBookers 7 Super Shots.
4. Tell us you have participated and tweet the hashtag #7SuperShots
5. Nominate 5 other bloggers by including a link to their blog in your post.

Here are my 7 Super Shots:

A PHOTO THAT… TAKES MY BREATH AWAY

This is a photo of my hometown, the city of Pittsburgh, Pa, taken high up on Mount Washington that shows off the city in all its splendor and glory, lying in the mist of the Three Rivers ( Monongahela, Allegheny and the Ohio). It never fails to take my breath away when I experience this view of the city I call home.

A PHOTO THAT MAKES …ME LAUGH OR SMILE

This smiling tall fellow was taken at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium.  Every time I see his smile, I smile.  I like how he seems to be looking right at me and following my order to say “cheese”.

A PHOTO THAT… MAKES ME DREAM

I love sunsets!  I took this photo on my front porch, before entering my home.  A beautiful sunset always provides me with a moment to dream and wish upon tomorrow.  The setting of the sun in a blaze of color is the ending highlight of one day with the promise of the next.

A PHOTO THAT… TELLS A STORY

At first I thought I had stumbled upon a magazine photo shoot.  Who was this handsome man, and who was he talking to.  I was in New York City and this photo was taken two doors down from Ralph Lauren’s store on Madison Avenue.  Is he a model for the store, an employee or a customer?  How appealing and sexy wearing no socks!  What is his story?

PHOTO THAT… MAKES MY MOUTH WATER

Clear, sparkling water flowing over a small falls in Ashtabula County, Ohio along the Erie Coastal Trail where I was touring Amish country.  The falls provided a coolness to an otherwise hot humid day.  I see and I thirst for just a cup of this spring water.

A PHOTO THAT… MAKES ME THINK

Frank Lloyd Wright’s FALLINGWATER

I took this photo of Frank Lloyd Wright’s FALLINGWATER on a recent tour of his homes in the Laurel Highlands near Pittsburgh, Pa.  It makes me think of the genius of a man who could create such beauty flowing out of the hills and over a water fall deep in the woods.  What a wonder to build a home so one with nature and so ahead of his time in agriculture design.

A PHOTO THAT… I AM MOST PROUD OF

(aka MY WORTHY OF NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC SHOT)

WHICH IN FACT I DID SUBMIT 2012 SENSATIONAL MOMENT CATEGORY

This photo was taken by the lake in  Central Park, NYC.  I was walking through the park when I spotted, through the trees, this young couple in a sweet moment of tender embrace.  I knew it was a special moment to capture, of blossoming love so I hastily photographed it.

My nominations are (only if you choose to participate) are:

I think Brisbane looks beautiful at night from Mt Cootha. We can relish man made things too and enjoy them, after all God gave man the wisdom in the first place . Love to see more, you have a great gift.
