Audi has released a new video to showcase the features of its new Q7’s rear-seat entertainment system.
You can spec up to two 10.1-inch Audi tablets behind the front seats. Each one is an Android-based device powered by Nvidia Tegra 4, and directly hooks up to the car’s navigation plus system via Wi-Fi to allow rear-seat access to radio, media (on-board or online, through the in-car LTE connection), navigation and car functions.
Audio, of course, will be piped through the car’s speakers – in “full 3D” too, if matched to the optional Bang & Olufsen or Bose sound systems. Beyond that, there’s Google Play Store support to download your favourite apps.
Portability is another unique feature. You can remove the Audi tablet from its mount and use it like a normal touchscreen device outside your car. It features a full HD camera and 32GB of internal storage, as well as Bluetooth and NFC support.
Audi also says that the tablet has been engineered for automotive use, so it’s temperature-resistant and is safe in an event of a crash, which is lacking in conventional end user tablets and/or aftermarket mounts.
So while the second-generation Audi Q7 may look all that exciting from the outside, its seven-seat interior is a lot more interesting. Are you warming up to this massive beast yet?
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
wow, didn’t know they started to use robots as models!
OMG, just as bad as the one on the Kimchi i40.
So aftermarket add on look
So after thought…damaging instead of uplifting the Q7’s image.
the presentation is as boring as the look outside.
We have iPads, tablets etc this is really nothing to shout about. Don’t even bother.
Sure the passenger can look at that thing throughout the journey without feeling nauseated?
I cant even stand 5 mins texting/gaming on my phone when im the passenger.
Probably audi has carsickness bag provided behind the tablet holder.
