Wines of Chile announced today the winners of the third Independent Wine Merchant Awards. Participating merchants were asked to promote Chilean wines during the month of September using their creativity and promotional support.
Michael Cox, Director, Wines of Chile – Europe, said “The entrants really raised the bar this year. The calibre of entries was outstanding. Merchants showed the real commitment and enthusiasm providing their customers with choice and quality whilst educating and persuading their customers up to trade up premium Chile. The winning merchants communicated real passion for Chile.”
Some of the ingenuity shown included customer dinners using Chilean food and recipes, playing Chilean music in store, quiz nights, tastings and events, supported by newsletters and other social media activities. One merchant recorded an uplift in sales of Chilean wines by 600%
