Patina Green

I’d been wanting to visit Patina Green Home and Market since I first heard about it last fall. Shabby chic antiques and a menu that consisted entirely of locally grown and seasonal ingredients sounded too good to pass up. So, yesterday when I was craving a fresh lunch and a change scenery, I trekked half an hour north to my hometown of McKinney to give Patina Green a try.

The menu not only changes every day but is served only until the food runs out. Not wanting to take any chances, we arrived early for lunch and ordered two sandwiches and a salad to share. The tuna melt was hearty and pleasantly sweet from an organic pickle relish. The Texas tomato with organic sharp cheddar was unbelievably rich and delicious. I stuffed myself to the brim and then proceeded to explore the rest of the store. This place is a true gem! I can’t wait to go back again and try something entirely different.
