Supernatural Experience

A. W. Pink (1886-1952)The supernatural experience of the Christian is seen in his attitude toward God. Having within him the life of God, having been made a “partaker of the Divine nature” (2 Peter 1:4), he necessarily loves God, loves the things of God, loves what God loves; and, contrariwise, he hates what God hates. This supernatural experience is wrought in him by the Spirit of God, and that by means of the Word of God. The Spirit never works apart from the Word. By that Word He quickens. By that Word He produces conviction of sin. By that Word He sanctifies. By that Word He gives assurance. By that Word He makes the saint to grow. Thus each one of us may ascertain the extent to which we are profiting from our reading and studying of the Scriptures by the effects which they are, through the Spirit’s application of them, producing in us.

About Greg Coleman

I am a Particular Baptist who affirms the absolute sovereignty of the triune Godhead in all things. The fullness of the Godhead dwells in the God-man Jesus Christ. He is the Creator, Sustainer, Redeemer, Disposer and Judge of all that ever was, is now or ever shall be. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and men. He was made to be sin for his people and saved them from their sins by his substitutionary, sacrificial death on the cross thereby satisfying the justice and wrath of God against them. The sufficiency of his death to the satisfaction of God’s justice is proven by his physical resurrection from the dead and enthronement in glory at the right hand of the Father. Jesus Christ is coming again to judge the living and the dead. Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.

I am reminded of all of the false doctine I am seeing preached everywhere right now by various people, and how sad it is to see so many led astry by it. New Christians, the elect, and those who never knew the Lord to begin with. As you said, “The Spirit never works apart from the Word.”

Oh humble servant of YHVH..your viewers are increasing! I know you will not take that for yourself, but instead, the greatness in that God’s Word from your work will reach more people!

Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake. Psalm 115:1

When I have completed all that our sovereign God before ordained for me to do (Ephesians 2:10) I will still remain an unprofitable servant. I will only have done that which is my duty to do (Luke 17:10)

      Thank you for the encouragement.

      Soli Deo Gloria!

You are welcome. You always have your post on here..you don’t have a like button (I’m assuming for several reasons, such as problems I’ve faced with inappropriate pics of ‘likers’ you can’t get rid of…and because of a sign of humility..you do not want to take likes for yourself becuase you feel it is owed solely to God…) Your posts are always very good, and I think a lot of people probably come here and read them, but they don’t take the time to leave a message. I like your posts and they’re a blessing to me! Thank you for diligently posting everyday. God bless you brother!

Thank you again for the encouragement.

If you are logged in on WordPress a “Like” button should appear in the WordPress bar next to the “Following” button.

I have the “Like” avatars turned off.

          Soli Deo Gloria

I am on WordPress and logged in. I commented on that because I have thought about turning mine off a few times because I have very inapproiate people spamming with likes with pornographic pics , I couldn’t figure out how to delete their like, so I went to their website and contacted them telling them to remove their porn spam like off of my page at once…and luckily, they did. Thanks again for your posts, and God bless you!
