18 pics from Albania. More than 700,000 concrete military bunkers built for a country with only 3 million citizens, and now disused. Rozafa Castle in Shkodra, Albania. Enver Hoxha Mausoleum (Piramida) a former mausoleum in Tirana, Albania. It was supposed to end up a museum about the late communist leader’s legacy (in addition to his mausoleum), but became a conference centre and party venue instead. Elbasan’s former ‘Steel of the Party’ steelworks. Lots of houses in use but part-built, awaiting further funds. Part of the Insight Vacations Vienna to Istanbul “Eastern Discovery” tour.
