Bastille have scored a number one album with their debut LP Bad Blood.
The London quartet enter at the top spot just 3,000 copies ahead of long-runner Emeli Sandé, who drops a place with Our Version of Events.
Frontman Dan Smith told The Official Charts Company: “If it’s true, then it’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard.
“We are completely blown away by how many people have bought the album, and have no idea what to say.”
Stereophonics land at three with their latest album Graffiti on the Train. Bruno Mars rises two to four with Unorthodox Jukebox.
Dido’s comeback LP The Girl Who Got Away is a new entry at five, making it her fourth top five album.
Brits Critics’ Choice nominee Laura Mvula’s debut album
Sing to the Moon lands at nine. Olly Murs leaps 12 places to seven with
Right Place Right Time.
Jimi Hendrix’s posthumous album People, Hell And Angels is a new entry at 39.
Making the most of Mother’s Day, Alfie Boe climbs back up 62 places to 33 with Storyteller. Eva Cassidy’s Best Of also rises 30 places to 26. There are also re-entries for Andrea Bocelli and Robbie Williams.
