As soon as Jim had the last plank of flooring down in the living and dining room areas, I was itching to get our billiards table set up again…it had been taken apart and in storage for about 2 years! However, Jim rained on my parade when he reminded me that we had not seen the table pockets plus all the nuts and bolts since we had moved.

Imagine how excited I was when I went into a garage full of boxes and the very first box I laid eyes on said “pool table parts” – fantastic! I ran back into the house and immediately located an installer.

A couple of guys from Mike’s Billiards arrived the next morning.

They got right to work, putting the four legs on the table base.

Jim pitched in and put felt pads on the bottoms of the legs to keep them from scratching up our beautiful new bamboo flooring.

The guys added the slate bed, which was in 3 pieces, each weighing about 150 lbs.

They joined the pieces by putting beeswax between the joints, heating it with a torch, and scraping off the excess.

The next step was to apply the felt. They laid it our across the top, smoothed it out, and then fastened it on the sides and at the pockets.

Next they put the rails on the sides and ends.

After the rails were put on, the guys slapped on the pockets and the table was all done! Isn’t she a beaut?

We also have a ping pong topper that we can plop on top for a change of pace.

Just a few things have yet to be put away in the living room/dining room area, known in our house as the game room. By the way, don’t you think hubby did a top-notch job installing our flooring?
