Blog #1218: Toy Review: Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2015) Warrior Class Soundwave

Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2015) Warrior Class Soundwave

Soundwave

Vehicle Mode: Soundwave’s vehicle mode is clearly inspired by Generations Voyager Fall of Cybertron Soundwave.  It looks fine, but the toy has some major design issues.  It is very hard to get his body lined up in vehicle mode.  He has ball and socket hips which don’t want to move properly into place.  Worse yet is his ball and socket elbows.  No matter what I do I can’t get both his arms begged in to the vehicle sides.

Robot Mode: He makes up for his vehicle mode flaws in robot mode.  He looks great.  I love the colors.  I just wish he had a more G1 inspired head sculpt.

Overall: Not bad, but I wouldn’t say he’s a must.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
