Review: L’Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base

I’ve tried lots of foundation primers.  Some are good and some are just plain horrible.  This one ranks with one of the better products on the market.

Pros:  Paraben-free.  Goes on smoothly.  Has no discernible fragrance.  Available almost everywhere.  You may already have a L’Oreal coupon you can use to get it at a discount.  Made in USA.

Cons:   The container is not-so-great.  It’s a little glass jar with a screw off lid.  REALLY inconvenient if you have long fingernails like I do! I used a little bamboo skewer – the kind you use for hors d’oeuvres at parties – to get the stuff out.  It only comes in one formula.  If you need oil control or bronzing or whatever, you’re out of luck.

In Summary:  This isn’t a bad product for “normal” skin, and is as good as some of the higher-priced foundation primers.  I don’t know if I’d call it “magic”, but it’s pretty good.   If it weren’t for the container and the fact that I have hyper-oily skin, I would continue using it.  But I still hate the container.
