While I’ll still generally opt for a Chinon when I’m out and about, there’s been a few Anjou Cabernet Francs that have taken my fancy of late. This is right up there. Imported by Franc About Wine.
Smells great. All falling leaves, brown grass, green peppercorns, herbs and tiny red berries. Enticing vitality, medium-bodied spicy allure. Can’t pick up much in the way of barrel work. Flat out sessionable. Stalky textured tannin but not in an under-ripe way. 91
