2013 Port Phillip Estate Salasso Rosé

imageLast vintage was one the better Australian rosés I’ve tasted. I’m nowhere near as keen on this but I still like it.

An interplay between macerated and candied red fruits and savoury earthen characters, dominated by the former. Plenty of warm spice. Creamy but possesses good form and plenty of length. Fullness of body with a hint of herbal bitterness to close. Will stand up to bolder dishes. 89

Didn’t quite know where to post this Jeremy.

Nice chatting with you today, and Alex (Head) did give me a look at the new super releases, the 2012 Redheads Shiraz, and the 2013 Ancestor Grenache …. wow, and double wow …. I can still taste that other worldly Grenache a good 30 minutes later!

    Great wines.

Sorry, if wrong spot, and nothing to do with Port Phillip Estate BTW

  2. Not an issue at all Gavin! Am very interested in how those super-premiums are viewed as it does seem unlikely, given the small volume produced, that I will taste them.

Good to finally have a chat.

    Cheers
