JetBlue Park Boston Red Sox 2012 Spring Training Home Part 5

This is my fifth blog on JetBlue Park, the brand new spring training site of the Boston Red Sox. My intent is to continue the reports and pictures until the finishing touches have been applied to the facility. You can expect updates every 2-3 weeks as my schedule allows. Do you have any suggestions on what would improve the blog for you? You are welcome to post your thoughts in the comment section as long as you keep them G rated and respectful.

EDITED November 24, 2011

The Red Sox have released their 2012 Spring Training Schedule. I know many of you are waiting for it. Copy and paste this link into your address bar: springtrainingonline.com/teams/boston-redsox-3.htm

Before you know it 11,000 members of Red Sox Nation will be migrating to Fort Myers, Fl to occupy every seat at JetBlue Park,  to watch the 2012 Boston Red Sox  and discuss the changes that were made.  Filing into this new facility to start the 2012 season will be a pleasure after the disappointing end to 2011.

The progress is evident in the most recent pictures. The foul poles are up, the seating is being installed for 11,000 fans, the final roof supports are in place from first base to right field and sod is being put in place all over this enormous complex. I hope you enjoy the ten photos!

The 2012 edition of the Boston Red Sox will have a sparkling new spring training park, new general manager, new manager & pitching coach, new team leaders, new closer and a few new players. Who would you like to see the Sox add?  Is Bard the new closer? If so, this would free the Sox to spend on the rotation which is in dire need of a #4 and #5 starter.  My guess is that will be the scenario the Red Sox will follow in 2012.

Cherington and company have their work cut out for them. Thankfully, they have a solid core of returning players to build around. Show us what you have Ben! Red Sox Nation is watching, waiting and counting on you!

The February reporting date is now about 3 months away. The Sox have announced that ticket prices will remain the same as last year. They will start at $5 for the reserved lawn area above the bullpen in right center and top out at $46 for the home plate dugout boxes.  I’ll be there and hope you will be also!

Many of you have asked about the address of JetBlue Park,  the new  Red Sox Spring Training site.  The location is 11581 Daniels  Parkway, Fort Myers,  FL 33913. The Complex is approximately two  miles east of Interstate 75, Exit 131  and approximately six miles from Southwest Florida International  Airport.

For those of you in the market for a second home, I’ve included links to four highly sought after Fort Myers, Florida communities that are located within minutes of JetBlue Park and offer outstanding amenities.
