There are a lot of idol groups who have made a comeback recently. I’m still listening to most of the songs on their albums but the thing that caught my ear about these two tracks is the sentimentality of it. I’m not one to roll my eyes at sentimental songs as long as it’s easy to listen and that’s precisely what these tracks do.
Although “Remember” is the title track from their latest album, featuring a summery romantic theme, I much prefer the track “Dejavu” with its simple, acoustic melody.
I like that the lyrics address the cliché aspects of love, particularly how fate can play a role in love. We see it all the time in K-Dramas and at times roll our eyes at the mushiness of it all. And yet, there’s a part of human beings that want to believe that a higher power plays a role in that thing called love. We’re just optimistic in that way.

Many of the members of this group have been busy with their solo projects and sub-units. I’m not really sure how successful their last album was except to say that the only part I know from “Mamacita” is the ay-ya-ya-yah-ya part. However, I really took the song “Alright” right away.
The song was written by Dong Hae and Eun Hyuk and it’s a really catchy tune about friendship and love. It’s amazing that the group has been together for 10 years and the group is not only still together, give or take a few members, but they’ve been together through mandatory military services and even watched one of the members go off and get married.
At first glance, the rap portion of this song felt a bit trite filled with random phrases and overused metaphor. It wasn’t until I saw Super Junior performance at Inkigayo that I realized they worked each of the members names into the part which I’ve bolded for you below. Which makes the track even more endearing. What’s more is that you can’t help but feel the absence of Shindong and Sung Min who are currently serving their military obligations.
