Congolese Woman Tells Story of Violence

This story originally appeared at worldpulse.com as part of World Pulse’s Ending Violence Against Women Digital Action Campaign.

My name is Lukogo Cirimwanmi Grace and I’m from Congo, precisely from South Kivu. Here there was a woman from a village with children and a husband. One day the interahamwe came in the village, they entered in the house of this woman, they raped her and after that they put salt into her sex. In the end they killed the children and the husband. As for today she’s like a crazy person. It’s a shame here in the South Kivu.
Thanks
