Over 50 CDC Delmonte labourers have died in a ghastly motor accident along the famous Tiko-Douala Highway.
Reports reaching us claim that a 27 tonnes Dump Truck ( aka tipper) in a sad case of speed and a tire puncture, lost traction and collided with the CDC personnel bus. All but one of the CDC workers lost their lives in this accident. The driver of the dump truck is also reported to have died.
This sad news comes less than one month after another ghastly accident on the same highway which claimed about 20 lives.
For as long as I can remember, the Tiko-Douala highway is considered a death trap, yet in over 50 years of existence, our government has never deemed it necessary to address the issues that make this highway so unsafe. There’s been a toll-gate on that road for over 20 years now, yet no major road improvement has taken place. How many more lives will be lost for someone to care? I get so frustrated with our government. This is so sad!!! The state of our roads are deplorable due to bad governance, negligence and gross irresponsibility.
May their souls RIP or wake up and haunt the people in power!
WHAT’S YOUR TAKE ?
May their souls RIP.
May their gentle souls rest in peace
may their souls rest in perfect peace.
May God Almighty comfort the families of the death. This is so sad, it just shows us that life is nothing without Jesus Christ.
May their souls RIP. We are already aware of our road conditions and as individuals we can not make those changed. However, why do we allow multi-billion-dollar companies to transport us like animals. does it mean those same CDC labourers can not stand up one morning against their employers to ameliorate their working conditions. Moreover, why do we drink and drive?
Lord have mercy may. The RIP….
Terrible is an understatement. These are all accidents which can be avoided if people did their jobs correctly. What happens to all the money received as tollgate fees from poor Cameroonians? What happens to all the taxis? All these is happening to the poor people while ministers, politicians and other influential Cameroonian are busy embezzling money! Its about time we stand on our feet and fight for our beloved country!
The reunification budget can build a dual carriageway between Tiko and Douala.
Poor Cameroonians going out for their daily bread, the police men on the way dont care about the lives of the people so long as they have their 500frs in their pockets shame to the CPDM,Shame to the Government and Shame to all the Cameroonians who vote the CPDM
what has the SDF done to change the condition of our roads?
dont be stupid,is SDF the one in power?
God is in control
its a shame that all this is happening but i think the is more to it that the eye cant see
So sad! A short but very deadly stretch of road
only G od will protect us!! may thier souls rest in peace
wehh, may the Soul Rest in Peace.
Shut up stupid Cameroonians. For how long shall we keep saying May their souls RIP? Let’s see how to square this issue away or tomorrow it will be u there. The government should put a speed camara on the highway and confiscate any vehicle caught speeding there. I have had enough from this road. It’s time to act and stop wishing souls to RIP.
perfect talk
I full agree. Strike the iron when its damn hot.
Good one , we understand it hurts but we need to jion hands to stop this poor treatment of our brothers who work in this farms . Dear CDC worker you people should do some thing for your feature …
I think u have a point bro. coz for how long shall we sit and watch children become orphans while some parents become childless, something has to be done if you and i cant do it i think its important we invite GOD into to the matter. Not to come and repair the roads 4 us but to oversee governance in cameroon.
may their souls RIP.
There are certainly very many hard lessons to be learned from this tragic incident. Our thoughts and prayers go first to the bereaved families. The next thing is that road safety is also about safe driving. It must be said and strongly so that some of the drivers on the Cameroonian roads are down right reckless. This means any number of things from the poor state of cars, lack of maintenance, over-speeding and disrespect of traffic regulations. The law enforcement officers need to do their job. Second thing the state of our roads needs so much to be desired. There is urgent need to upgrade the roads in Cameroon and take all safety precautions to forestall such tragic incidences as the one that just happened. There is need for true patriotism and leadership among Cameroonians. The Arab spring all started with one man who said enough is enough and that things must change. But more lives should not be lost as in the Arab spring. A silent, bloodless, strong revolution is needed from somewhere! It does not matter from where it comes whether from the leadership or from the people. But someone a Cameroonian needs to say no more of this again and mean it. But not in a violent, bloody fashion as to risk many more lives again. We need a revolution not only for our roads but the entire country needs to be turned up side down!
May Their Gentle Innocent Souls Rest in the Perfect Peace of the Lord. Lord Please Take control of this Tragedy!!!!
Cameroon is really useless , money that was to be used in creating and opening up more express road. the money is all sent to Swiss banks, soon we shall carry all the corpses of our brothers and keep there, cus it is like that’s where our destiny s are. what a foolish country, now we have many families suffering, this is nonsense
GOD can accept such soul because is at the discretion of mankind,”MR PRESIDENT ” of Cameroon is time for you to do road work and stay away from closing down churches in Cameroon, GIVE These road work to foreign investor to construct good roads and collect their toll gate rather then you collecting toll gate with bed road, camera will never put an end to this problem because Cameroon police are corrupt , if there,s a two way road people will not die this way , LET our president copy from those country he/wife has being visiting wicket man Cameroonian are suffering outside every day because of your bed leadership
May their souls rest in Perfect peace
It’s a woeful story and this calls for a immediate contigency plan. We can’t seat and watch these poor narrow inter-urban roads takeaway many more lifes.

God knows best.May their soul R.I.P.
Cameroon has no high way.
God will deliver us from all evil
i dont know what is keeping back the government from puting speed control gendarmes on this lane?
May their gentle souls rest in peace. Is so sad when incidents like these are no lessons to the way we do things. Last two weeks was elections and is the same you guys complaining that were walking in CPDM dresses singing praises in exchange for beer. We are all aware and we all see the consequences of bad governance but unwilling to act.
We have had enough of this , CDC workers its time those of you who are not death yet stand up to protect your lifes and others who will come after you , today is your brothers/sisters , tomorrow may be you … Safety is a must not optional workers stand up in your numbers , stop all what you people are doing allow the crops to spoil in the farms tell the world your story we are many to help you people fight .you people need to start up revolution must not be with blood we can do this in many way …. One people , one voice, one family , winning together .the time is now
RIP those who have paid with their lifes for the better feature of us left behind .God show us the way to take.
OMG! WHAT IS HAPPENING TO OUR WORLD OF TODAY. DELIVER US OH GOD. MAY THE SOULS OF THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED REST IN PERFECT PEACE.
Another day is going by no news or message from cameroon government to the families its like a no event … When are we going to think out of the box …..we need to do some thing to show the world what is happening here in cameroon and help with links of international plantation workers revolution web site. Any word will be of great help
even if a speed camera is put installed there as i heard one of you say ,yes it might reduce the accidents but it wont stop people from speeding. You know where because when you speed and you r caught by the police you pay his dough and you go .That means there will only be a punishment for those who speed but they cant stop them from speeding
Useless and the most wicket Country i have ever seen in my entire life . I course the day i was born here in this Jungle called Cameroon la republic de Biya

i blame just the president,he needs to visit other places and understand the advantages oF national highways and then express roads. today 50 mouths and above are dead, meaning more than 200 Cameroonians related to those people will start life anew.if you are a leader mr paul biya be ready to carry the cross of your people.what aches me is that, the time this fool was to use and better the country with, he uses it in changing constitutions. well one day we shall change your constitution. REST IN PEACE my brothers and sister and may God take you by him BYE BYE
