Organizing has spurred the civic engagement of neighborhoods and congregations impacted by the storms, and these empowered communities have built working partnerships with government and philanthropy. This session will also illustrate the basic principles of congregation-based community organizing and the important role it has played in post-Katrina New Orleans.
