Telcon Industries originally developed the Zorba, but sold the rights to the system to minicomputer manufacturer Modular Computer Systems (MODCOMP) in 1983. MODCOMP then formed Modular Micros to sell the Zorba. In 1985, a company called Gemini Electronics was selling the Zorba at a heavily discounted price.
