Welcome to Kelly's Corner!

I've been an artist since I could crawl and have since been dabbling in several different types of art.

Now I spend most days running Geek Girl Stuff, LLC with my mother-in-law, which is a business that makes geeky crafty goods. Most of our business is setting up booths at Comic-Con and similar shows.

I have also published my first novel! More of that is in progress, but it can be found here: Penumbra.

From 2003 to 2007 I attended the Art Institute of Portland and graduated with a degree in video game art and design. After graduation, I worked in the industry for a couple of years on major projects such as Fable 2, Fear 2, Silent Hill 5, and a few other smaller projects.

Since then I was part of the Starry Expanse team as a volunteer artist and team lead from 2013-2020.  Starry Expanse was rebuilding Riven using the Unreal 4 engine.

These days, most of my 3d modeling is done for 3d printing.

In 2005, I wanted to broaden my horizons a bit and expanded into graphic arts and design. In 2008 I launched RainDrop Design as a graphic design company. Most of my clients were small companies that are just getting off the ground and need help with a logo, business cards, or a flyer or two. Sometimes I had clients who need patent illustrations or help with doing some 3d modeling for conceptual designs of an invention.

RainDrop Design closed in 2018 when the universe threw a 2x4" board at me and made it clear I needed to focus on Geek Girl Stuff.

I've been drawing for years, but in 2014 I started participating in Inktober, a challenge to create an ink drawing every day during the month of October. In the same year, my mother in law and I launched Geek Girl Stuff. We make geeky jewelry, dragon eggs, etched glass, and prints and greeting cards of my sketches.

Photo prints and greeting cards of the sketches are available for purchase on Geek Girl Stuff's shop.

Sometime around 2007 I started dabbling with Photoshop and learning how to create digital art and paintings. Most of the work has been for fun, although I have expanded quite a bit on that front and prints are available on the Geek Girl Stuff store.

One day I was shopping at a local store and saw some student grade acrylic paint sets. I had to try it out. My first painting was of some sun flowers and was donated to the Sexual Assault Resource Center of Oregon. Most of my paintings have been acrylic on canvas or canvas board, although I have painted a bit in watercolor and oils. I have also painted a mural on the walls of a nursery for a friend that I'm rather proud of.
