5 Reasons Why Daryl Dixon Is The Biggest Emotionally Broken Character On “The Walking Dead”

3. The Loss Of The Prison And Beth

The main portion of Season 4 had its high points and low points as the jail group was assaulted by a type of swine influenza that killed huge numbers of its people. Things got truly terrible when the Governor re-emerged out of the blue with his followers and ruined the once protected and successful haven. Once the jail fell, Daryl was compelled to run with Hershel’s daughter, Beth (Emily Kinney). The loss of Hershel and the fall of the jail were unpleasant on Daryl. He felt like there was more he could have done at the time. The event made him cut off himself from the gang, much in the way he did when Sofia died. It wasn’t until an enthusiastic heart-to-heart conversation and a conceivable romance with youthful Beth that he started to pull himself up once more.

2. Glenn

While out on revenge, Daryl was trailed by Glenn and Rosita trying to bring him back. The three wound up getting caught by Dwight and ended with a gun wound to the shoulder for Daryl. This delivered the same line-up with Rick and the group that ended Season 6 and commenced Season 7.
In that line-up, the new lowlife Negan, beat Abraham’s (Michael Cudlitz) skull to pulp. While endeavoring to make Rosita look at the ridiculous chaos, Daryl responded and punched Negan in his face. Sadly, that was a strict no-no. Not having any desire to murder Daryl, Negan swung his bat to the head of Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun). The expression on Daryl’s face, realizing that his actions were responsible for what followed, was shattering. Glenn’s death was a gigantic blow that Daryl is not likely to ever pardon himself for.
