Jorge Ayarza: Wind electric water pumping project for south India

Water pumping is the most important productive use of energy in rural areas. We have developed and started to install a modified 4.2m Hugh Piggott turbine with high voltage stator that can run a 2.2 kW three phase pump. We will present our preliminary findings operating these systems in south India.
