EVERIL J. MANUEL

WILLIAMSBURG – Everil J. ”Moe” Manuel, 77, a Williamsburg resident for 40 years, died Tuesday, July 23, at his home.

Mr. Manuel was employed as an auto mechanic at Cheatham Annex, retiring in 1972. A Marine veteran of World War II, he served in the Army prior to the war for a total of 11 years of military service.

He was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Mr. Manuel was a native of Eunice, La., and a member of Saint Bede’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jean P. Manuel; two daughters, Marilyn A. Hedges of Hampton and Denise P. Brenner of Grafton; three sons, Wayne J. Manuel of Williamsburg, Kenneth J. Manuel of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Edward J. Manuel of Euless, Texas; two sisters, Lelide Vidrine of Austin, Texas, and Moza Landry of Elton, La.; eight grandchildren and a great-grandson.

A wake will be held at 7:30 tonight at Bucktrout Funeral Home after which the family will receive friends until 8:30 p.m.

A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Saint Bede’s Catholic Church by the Rev. Antonio Malabad. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 323, Williamsburg 23185.
