LILLIAN L. PALMER
SPRING GROVE – Mrs. Lillian L. Palmer, 62, of 53 Kings Way Lane, died Dec. 27, 1997, at John Randolph Hospital, Hopewell. A homemaker, she was the widow of Willie Palmer.
She was a member of Poplar Lawn Baptist Church, the Usher Board and missionary. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gracie H. Byrd, and father, Sirlester Byrd.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Coleman of Elberon, Linda D. Palmer of Surry, Edith L. and Perlene D. Palmer, both of Spring Grove; four sons, Willie L. Palmer Jr. of Newport News, Nelson Palmer of Elberon, Johnnie C. Palmer of Smithfield and Leroy Palmer of Williamsburg; three brothers, Mr. Sirlester Byrd Jr. of South Carolina, Herman Byrd and Sherman Byrd, both of Durham, N.C., and Ollie Harris of Smithfield; and two aunts, one great-aunt, 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held today, Dec. 31, at noon at Poplar Lawn Baptist Church, Surry. Burial will be in the Davis Family Cemetery. The family will assemble for the service at 11 a.m. Mrs. Palmer will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.
