Submissions open at doppelganger July 8

doppelgänger has a simple remit:

x 6 short stories, in print, twice a year.

x 3 of those stories will be realist. x 3 will be magical realist.

We have planned for two annual reading periods, from July to September, and then from February to May. Check our call for submissions page to see how that’s worked out.

Submissions

Solid storytelling will always win us over. We also like to see good sentences and an understanding of the form. For what we mean by realism and magical realism, you can see the brief definitions we’ve put up on our website. We are just as excited by fledgling writers as much as we are more established voices.
