“Little Tommy O’Flanagan”

Oh, to see our poor little neighbor boy Tommy O’Flanagan,

Jumping a puddle and falling splat on his fanny and can again.

Off running and dripping after on his way home,

All mucky and muddy and covered in loam.

Tommy with scattered wits then later collected,

Tried to sneak back into his home undetected.

Our  dear sweet, but splattered, little Tommy O’Flanagan,

Hoping ne’er to be caught in his latest shenanigan.

Splashed thru any puddles lately, yourself?  If not, perhaps you are taking life a bit too seriously.  Young children know how to have fun, just watch them!

The way Little Red Bear and his story friends see it, if your clothes are clean going into the wash, you’re missing out on the very best moments and memories.

So go ahead, you have our permission to get dirty and have a splashing good time. Pretend you’re dancing beneath your very own special Unicorn Cloud.

It makes a rainy day much more fun, and chances are you’re very likely already wet from the rain anyway! Might as well dance.  —  Jim  (and Red!)

“Childhood is that state which ends the moment a puddle is first viewed as an obstacle instead of an opportunity.” – Michael K. Williams

“’Why can’t you see I’m a kid?’ said the kid. ‘Why try to make me like you? Why are you hurt when I don’t cuddle? Why do you sigh when I splash through a puddle?  Why do you scream when I do what I did? I’m a kid.’” – Shel Silverstein
