We’re closing early tonight (6pm) to start the holiday weekend off right- we’ll see you again Sunday morning at 9am, with hangover brunch eggs at the ready! We’re looking forward to lots of grilling, pitchers of sangria with the tristar strawberries we’re snagging from Franca at Berried Treasures, and a little R&R before heading off to Martha’s Vineyard to feed Taryn Toomey’s retreat. Happy Fourth!
-Marissa and Team NKT

*The best way to drink all day? Session beers and cocktails made with aperitifs like our personal fave, Lillet.
*But of course, not much can beat a glass of our Guilhelm Rosé … except, maybe, avocado toast?
*Jonesing after this brass plant mister - perfect for the flourishing curry leaf plant we’re hoping will keep chugging along for a beautiful new salad coming up on the summer

We’re looking forward to one last chill weekend (leafing through a stack of new magazines, scoring super-ripe cherries at the market, and testing some new recipes) before hitting Martha’s Vineyard to prepare boatloads of farm-fresh food for Taryn Toomey’s retreat. Here’s the game plan:

*Spread Caroline Hurley’s Antigua Indigo Throw out on the grass and plop down with a peach and heirloom tomato salad and grilled chicken (recipes here). Bag it all up in our spanking new tote and you’re good to go.
*Daydreaming our way into these tres-chic summer homes, courtesy of - who else? - Vogue.
*Our guru Danny Meyer overturns the classic hospitality idiom “the customer is always right” in favor of being generous.
*At long last, a woman will appear on U.S. currency. We’re rooting for Harriet Tubman.
*Even Lucky

It’s damn hot outside people! We’re attempting to stay as cool as possible this weekend. Perfect timing for some thought-provoking reading and internet-perusing…
-Marissa

*Get your hottest pair of “bossy pants” on: tickets are still available for the Be a Boss Babe Panel this Sunday in Brooklyn. A full afternoon of entrepreneurial convo put on by Local Creative and Taste the Style…oh, and did we mention that we’re providing brunch fare, and that Marissa’s speaking?? (bonus!!).
*Stay in the AC this weekend and do a little DIY beauty boosting. Slather your face up with some super-easy avocado treatments for antioxidant-rich, healthy fat plumping moisture and radiance.
*Fish on the grill is one of our favorite things in the summertime. Check this good read about “The Piscivore’s Dilemma.”
*We are just a wee bit giddy that there’s finally some

What we’re jonesing after this Friday…

*Paris will have always a piece of my heart…and when I’m there, i’m definitely indulging in things the city of light is known for (like the most amazing croissants). This Paris Croissant Map is pastry-filled genius…
*There’s no flight-hopping to Paris occurring this weekend, but we are headed down south to Charlottesville, VA for a few days to the world of Thomas Jefferson. His writings on farming and innovative crop-rotation speak of sustainability long before the term became en vogue.
*In other travel-related news, the sight of sand and surf may be far off for another little while, but this chevron paddleball set will definitely be in tow — tucked nicely in our brand spanking new NKT canvas market tote, which doubles as an awesome beach

It may have only been a 4-day work week, but we’re dang pumped it’s Friday. We’re also pumped for big ol’ glasses of rosé, lazy weekend reading, summer shopping, and all of these things…

*A trip to Union Square’s greenmarket today to snag some of Berried Treasures Farm’s tristar strawberries (a.k.a. Mother Nature’s version of candy). Say hi to Franca, one of our fave farmers, if you swing by, and tell her we sent ya.
*Breaking all the rules and bridal shower-gifting OFF the registry (the only way to go in my humble opinion). These olivewood and bone salad servers, handmade by artisans in Kenya, will give you that shock and awe best-gift factor … the maid of honor has nothing on you. Luckily, we stock these gorgeous servers at Nourish
