The national flag of the Republic of Congo contains the Pan-African colours in a distinct diagonal pattern to set it aside from other Pan-African flags.  The Flag was readopted on June 10, 1991 at the end of the socialist period which began in 1970.  The flag was originally adopted on August 18, 1958.
