Communication 1010 –  Elements of Effective Communication is a course intended to introduce students to basic communication concepts, improve interpersonal and organizational competence, and provide students with an opportunity to apply those concepts and skills. It covers basic communication concepts, group communication skills, interviewing, business writing, and oral presentations.

Below is my signature assignment for this course:

Communication 1010 Career Research Interview

Reflection
I found this class very informative, and I feel I left with improved communication skills I can apply to my personal and professional life. This class focused on active listening, verbal and non-verbal messages, interviewing, working in teams, presentations and overall communication skills. I found the interview and team work knowledge I learned to be very valuable. I was also able to improve my presentation skills through a speech I gave for this class. I will be able to use these skills in presentations I have to give in the future in school or work.

I chose my Career Research Interview as the signature assignment for this class because I feel it demonstrates the interview skills I gained in this class. I was able to arrange and plan my interview, choose the best interview structure, form comprehensive interview questions, and conduct an interview in a professional manner.
